Synopsis:
Based on the work of Dias Gomes, the show O Bem Amado tells the story of mayor Odorico Paraguaçu, whose priority goal in his administration in the city of Sucupira is the opening of a cemetery. On one side it is supported by the Cajazeiras sisters. On the other hand, he has to fight the strong opposition led by Vladimir, owner of the city's newspaper.
For lack of a dead man, the mayor never manages to achieve his goal. Not even the arrival of Ernesto – a dying man who does not die – and the hiring of Zeca Diabo, a killer cangaceiro, provide him with the realization of his dream. Odorico sets up situations for someone to die, but the first body to be buried in Sucupira will be that of the mayor himself, who from a hunter becomes a hunted and goes from a villain to a martyr.
