Synopsis:
"Omoide no sakura" is the second show by the taiko group Hibiki Wadaiko created especially to celebrate Japanese immigration from the city of Garça. Its dramaturgy presents a simple journey of Japanese immigrants in lands of the interior of São Paulo since the arrival of the ship Kasato Maru, in 1908, in the port of Santos, proposing a staging that unfolds along a poetic narrative that mixes taiko music, dance and memory. Contemplated by ProAC Municipios, the show takes on an opportunity: to revive the “stories” of the Japanese-Garcenses. On stage, the Hibiki group simply celebrates the encounter between the present and the past, through an overflight of the heritage left by our ancestors. In addition, the newly created taiko group, Hanami Daiko, takes part in it, founded on the basis of the dream and desire to keep the history of the Japanese Garcense community alive through time.
